Digital television offers improved picture and sound quality and greater program choice with access to new digital channels such as Network Ten’s ONE, Network Nine’s GO!, 7TWO, ABC2, ABC 3 and SBS Two. Australians are making steady progress in getting ready for digital TV. Sixty one per cent of households have already converted their main television set. 78% of households know how to convert to digital TV. Of those households that are not digitally ready, 84 per cent intend to convert to digital TV. Read more

The Government is working closely with television retailers to provide information and advice about switching to digital television. Many stores now have approved Digital Advisors to help consumers and businesses get ready for digital TV.
